Why does a writer always wear glasses? Because they need to "focus" on their characters. 😂😎

'Writing helps us in so many ways. It’s therapy, it’s a creative outlet....'

Yeah, for me writing is mainly a way for me to release my strong emotions and opinions on various issues in society that really anger and disappoint me. I also see it as a way to help raise awareness on such issues.

You raise good, practical points, Kerry.

Even more excellent and reassuring advice (after part I). I'm especially in total agreement with you about the importance of idleness - simply the fact that people may see us being idle but our brains are absolutely not idle, but churning away on the hidden inside. I have written far, far more in my daydreaming than I ever would or could simply by mechanically sitting down in front of a screen or a pad of paper at set times of the day. So I think it's important to give ourselves idleness/daydreaming time - it's especially where we resolve all those continuity errors.

So I'll often write it in my head first, then I'll type it up (if my memory works). Not always, but often enough for it be a good method. So I no longer admonish myself for what others might call 'procrastination' - there's always something going on behind the scenes.

Anyway, that's what I'm telling myself now.

And absolutely agree that some people's writing advice is bad for you. I think writing habits, chosen by oneself, are far more important than what they call advice.

Give my love to Jeremy the wizard cat. Ours, Boudiccat, has a similar magic, methinks...

Taking the path of least resistance is so real! Sometimes I have such big ideas. In fact when I decided to start a substack this year I took the time to map out what I’d write for every month this year. Jokes on me though because sometimes I’m not in the space or don’t have the time to write some of my elaborate ideas. Still I’ve been determined to show up and sometimes that means writing something unplanned or repurposing something old.

And yes He changes our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh A “heart of stone” is cold, impenetrable, stubborn, and unrepentant.Having a stone-cold heart is a miserable thing. It makes life harder than it has to be. Turning back to God can be a huge, courageous step, especially if it means leaving old habits and attitudes behind. But the promise of having an undivided heart and God’s Spirit in a heart of flesh is definitely the better way. It’s what God desires for our lives. It makes a radical change in life worth every effort, and we can do it in God’s strength. And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh Ezekiel 11:19

And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. Ezekiel 36:26-27

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me

Psalm 51:10

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,”

Hebrews 10:16

“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

Jeremiah 17:10

And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.”

Mark 7:20-23

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Well no it's not guilt, it's actually a change of mind into God's mind his perspectives and understandings, and because of his grace enables and empowers us to turn away from proactively engaging in sins that only ultimately hurt ourselves and others. Jesus Christ absolves our guilt and shame of our past and we enter into a rebirth & become new creations in Christ. Gods word tells us we should confess our sins (1 John 1:9) and believe in faith He has cleansed us from our guilty conscience (Hebrews 10:22). Even when someone else is responsible for bringing usd shame, the scriptures urge us not to be ashamed but to glorify God instead Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

(1 Peter 4:16).
