As time aggressively seized a path before me, the day came when I proudly completed the caravan and for Aslin and his team to journey on. The starting point took place a mile east of our settlement by the river where they would travel alongside it and fill up on water until they no longer could. Thousands of people came to see them off, with our own Herus delivering the valediction. He expressed full confidence, promising that progress would be made with the lost nomads and starving children. It was the beginning of a connection that would strengthen with upcoming years, when our towns would slowly make space for new citizens in need of the Binus Way. As the crowd cheered and my gaze fell upon center stage, I felt a confusing daze of happiness. Aslin was going to get his break free from a demanding lifestyle, and I would get to learn more about our world through him. Eleven men headed off into the wilderness to return some time later, and I went back to work.
