Every March we break free from the holding pattern of a repeating universal month cycle and fully begin the new year. This particular March sets us off on the new start of the 1 year in a place that asks us to prioritize stability and make preparations for the storms ahead.
The number 4 is about foundations, structure, pragmatism, and knowledge. From a more mystical vantage point, it’s the four seasons, the four directions, the four elements, the four phases of the moon, all that which hints at the structural symmetry of our world.
Four is the container of time, as time in the natural world behaves like a square rather than a straight line.
In the context of the 1 year, we are starting to build this container, the cornerstone of a structure. This is the season in the 9-year cycle where we are sowing seeds in the endless spiral of life. There will not be a harvest for a long time, and there will be no harvest at all without careful planning and meticulous execution.
In a time of economic uncertainty, global instability, war, and social unrest, March is a time to get all our ducks in a row and make practical decisions that will sustain us for the years to come. This is why I’ve chosen Money on Straight by The Killers for this month’s song.

At this point in the global collective, the blueprints for the new future have not yet been drawn out. We have a concept of what needs to happen and how to get there, and March is a time when we put pencil to paper, hook-up wires to broader systems and networks, and weed through the minutia of rules and regulations.
There’s a lot at work right now but something that comes to mind is what’s currently happening to our financial institutions.
Foundational structures are being rewired and traditional centralized systems are in the process of becoming modified, digitized, and reconnected in new ways, shifting how money flows through the economy. In a 4 Universal Month, the focus turns to infrastructure, stability, and structural integrity — which makes me think of what’s currently happening with the adoption of blockchain technologies and the laws being written to regulate them. This leaves us questioning whether rewiring will create resilience, or disenfranchise the public in favor of the banks.
No one knows what’s waiting for us on the other side of this year in terms of global tensions, economy, etc., and in the pit of this uncertainty, the best thing you can do in March is to tread carefully, act deliberately, and make calculated decisions that safeguard against all known possibilities.

March asks us to step into structure with a new vision. It’s a month for laying foundations and tending carefully to the systems that sustain us—personal, societal, and global. The work we do now will probably feel slow, invisible, or even painstaking, but it shapes the framework for the years to come. Stay deliberate, stay observant, and trust that each careful decision, each thoughtful action, is a seed sown, a brick in the structure of a more resilient future.
